These Airwaves Neutralise The Tools of Oppression

radio broadcast, 2009

Commissioned by Frieze Projects, the complete contents of A Jukebox of People Trying to Change the World was broadcast in its entirety via an FM frequency and digital broadcast. Started in 2003, the artist’s collection of around 2,000 politically motivated or idealistic songs were programmed to last for the exact duration of Frieze Art Fair. The songs were broadcast live, day and night, with visitors tuning in online and via personal radios distributed at the fair.
