Dreadnoughts

walk, posters, badges 2010

DREADNOUGHTS was a series of public walking tours around East London commissioned by Chisenhale. Each walk took its starting point from an historical struggle in the local area. Dreadnoughts borrows its title from activist Sylvia Pankhurst’s radical newspaper, Workers’ Dreadnought, for which she was imprisoned for sedition. The walks were led by invited specialists and accompanied by a series of badges, readings, songs and printed matter, marking the spread of information along the way.
